Challenge
Sangbad Prahari required a scalable digital news platform capable of handling high-frequency publishing across multiple languages while maintaining centralized editorial control. The system needed to operate on self-managed infrastructure instead of shared hosting, support real-time election updates during traffic spikes, enable flexible monetization beyond standard ad networks, and deliver fast, reliable performance on mobile devices. Existing CMS solutions lacked the flexibility, performance, and real-time capabilities required for a growing regional media platform.
Implementation
Sangbad Prahari was envisioned as a modern regional news platform serving diverse language audiences without compromising performance or editorial control. The project began with designing a scalable architecture that could support rapid publishing and real-time updates.
A custom admin panel was developed to manage all content, advertisements, and language variants from a single interface. This significantly reduced editorial overhead and allowed faster publishing workflows.
To support live election coverage and audience engagement, real-time technologies and notification systems were integrated. The platform was optimized for mobile users and deployed on a self-managed VPS to ensure long-term reliability and control.
Solution
A fully custom full-stack solution was designed and developed using React for the frontend and Node.js with Express for the backend. Three language-specific frontends (English, Bangla, and Hindi) were built, all controlled from a single unified admin panel. The platform includes real-time updates powered by Socket.IO, a custom advertisement management system, Google Ads integration, and a notification subscription feature that alerts users when new content is published. The entire system is self-hosted on a VPS and optimized using Nginx for performance and stability.
